Veteran Cat Corey Enright agrees terms for new one-year deal
Defender all but certain to play on after agreeing to terms with Cats
GEELONG champion Corey Enright will play on into a 15th season, with the star defender to sign a one-year deal to remain at the Cats in 2015.
AFL.com.au understands the Cats and Enright have agreed to terms on the extension, with only the official paperwork still to be finalised. Those formalities could be completed as soon as this week.
It is understood the 32-year-old will use this year's finals series to reassure himself his body will survive the rigours of another AFL season.
If things go as planned, the triple-premiership defender will definitely run out in the blue and white hoops again next season.
Enright has been as consistent as ever in his 20 matches in 2014, averaging 21 disposals per game.
His ability to lock down on the opposition's most dangerous small forward has been a key part of the Cats' much-vaunted defence consisting of Tom Lonergan, Harry Taylor, Andrew Mackie, Jared Rivers and James Kelly.
Enright's commitment follows the one-year deal handed to Rivers, which was announced by the Cats last week.
Enright will play his 287th AFL game when Geelong takes on Hawthorn in Friday night's blockbuster qualifying final at the MCG.
