The 21-year-old, who needed to be upgraded or delisted after three seasons on the club's rookie list, has been rewarded for his steady improvement since being taken with pick nine in the 2012 NAB AFL Rookie Draft.
"I am extremely appreciative to receive an offer to stay at the club and I’m looking forward to my ongoing development," Jong said.
Bulldogs' list manager Jason McCartney said Jong had earn the promotion after working extremely hard on his game and showed real promise.
"Lin started playing football as a 15-year-old, and has demonstrated some rapid improvement over that time, but most notably this year, under the guidance of our coaches and strong development program," McCartney said.
"Lin has genuine AFL attributes with his speed and power, and a real interest and drive in his own development.
"We’re really pleased for Lin that he has been rewarded for the work he has put in over the past three years."
Jong has played 10 senior games since making his debut against Richmond in round 20, 2012.
The Dogs will now have to make calls on fellow third-year rookies Mark Austin, Jack Redpath and Alex Greenwood, but these decisions are unlikely to be made until after the club's VFL campaign is over.
