The Virgin Australia International Rules Series is on November 22

NORTH Melbourne veteran Brent Harvey hopes he will be greeted by high-fives instead of the usual boos when he runs out onto Patersons Stadium next month.

Harvey has become enemy No.1 amongst Fremantle and West Coast fans in recent years, especially after his series of run-ins with the likes of Ryan Crowley, Scott Selwood, Daniel Kerr and Adam Selwood.

But the Kangaroos veteran hopes all will be forgiven when he lines up for Australia for the November 22 showdown against Ireland in Perth.

"Hopefully the Perth crowd get behind me," Harvey said.

"Hopefully we win and I give a few high-fives out and they enjoy me."


Harvey was named as part of a star-studded 24-man squad featuring only current or former All Australians.

Players are likely to encounter hot conditions for the one-off Test, but Harvey isn't concerned.

"All the boys have been off at Bali and had their trips so they have experienced a lot hotter than Perth," Harvey said.

"When we come here there will be no excuses.

"It won't be because it was too hot or anything like that.

"I think it's going to be pride in representing your country, pride in your own performance and just mingling with the boys and taking this opportunity that you may never get again."
