Suns won't rush decision on new coach
Gold Coast is in no hurry to appoint a new senior coach
GOLD Coast is in no hurry to find a new coach and will not put a timeframe on the appointment.
The five-man sub-committee charged with finding Guy McKenna's successor has been in regular contact, but at this stage has only called for expressions of interest.
It is believed the Suns will make an announcement prior to pre-season training resuming in mid-November, but the club will not be drawn into marking a date.
New chief executive Andrew Travis said the selection panel had finalised its selection criteria and recruitment process, but would not be rushed.
"The panel is committed to running a thorough selection process, in a respectful, professional and confidential manner," Travis said.
"Evolve Intelligence, the same organisation used during the CEO recruitment process, has been engaged to assist the panel, giving everyone great confidence that confidentiality will be paramount."
It is believed no-one has been formally interviewed at this stage.
Although the club will not speculate on possible candidates, AFL.com.au believes Leigh Tudor, Brendan Bolton and Brett Ratten are among the candidates.
There is no suggestion they will favour an experienced coach simply because they believed McKenna wasn't the man that could take them to a premiership.
First to fourth-year Gold Coast players will resume training on November 5, with the remainder of the squad returning in the following fortnight.
