PORT Adelaide fans are likely to see plenty of Nathan Krakouer on his return to the Power this season, coach Ken Hinkley says.

Krakouer put together an outstanding season at SANFL level for the Port Adelaide Magpies in 2014, catching the eye of the AFL club's recruiting staff, who were prepared to take a chance on him.

The 26-year-old's return to Port Adelaide, where he played 40 games between 2007 and 2010, was a positive step in a career that hadremained unfulfilled.

Krakouer also spent one season at Gold Coast in 2011, notching 13 games before quitting the club for personal reasons.

The chance the club took on the 26-year-old was warranted, Hinkley said.

"Nathan's having a really strong pre-season, and his training form suggests he'll have an impact for us in 2015," Hinkley said as part of AFL Media's #AskTheCoachSeries.

Hinkley also gave an update on Sam Colquhoun and Jarrad Redden.

Colquhoun ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament in April last year, while Redden has dealt with a raft of injury issues in the past two seasons.

"Sam's nine and a half months in from an ACL, so he's still got a little bit to go, but doing well," Hinkley said.

"And Reddo hasn't played footy for nearly two years now, but he's back on the track, which is really exciting for us because we know he's got some real ability."
