The AFL wishes to advise the Match Review Panel has reviewed the matches played in round three of the 2015 Toyota AFL Premiership Season. The following charges were laid:

Chris Yarran, Carlton, has been charged with striking Paul Chapman, Essendon, during the first quarter of the Round Three match between Carlton and Essendon, played at the MCG on Saturday April 18, 2015.
In summary, he has been referred directly to the Tribunal for the offence to be heard and cannot accept an early plea.
Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the Essendon Football Club, it was the view of the panel the incident should be classified as intentional conduct with high impact to the head. The offence was classified as a direct referral to the tribunal, with no early plea offered. The player has no applicable bad record.
Rory Sloane, Adelaide Crows, has been charged with being the instigator of melee at three quarter time of the Round Three match the Adelaide Crows and Melbourne, played at Adelaide Oval on Saturday April 18, 2015.

Other Matters Assessed:
The match day report laid against GWS Giants' Shane Mumford for enaging in rough conduct against the Sydney Swans' Jeremy Laidler was assessed. After speaking to the umpire who laid the report, viewing all available vision and conducting a further investigation, the panel could not be satisfied that a reportable offence had occurred. No further action was taken.
Contact between Carlton's Bryce Gibbs and Essendon's Brendon Goddard from the third quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. Goddard had possession and was preparing to dispose of the ball as Gibbs came towards him. As Goddard kicked, Gibbs bumped the Essendon player, with a free kick being paid downfield for the contact. It was the view of the panel the force used was not sufficient to constitute a reportable offence. No further action was taken.
Contact between Port Adelaide's Alipate Carlile and North Melbourne's Sam Wright from the first quarter of Saturday's match was assessed. The ball was loose with Carlile and Wright coming from opposite directions. Carlile makes contact with the ball and kicks it forward as the two players meet. It was the view of the panel that Carlile was contesting the ball and had no realistic alternative option to contest the play. No further action was taken.
