WESTERN Bulldogs midfielder Lin Jong will be sidelined for up to two weeks after fracturing his hand against the Sydney Swans last Saturday.
The 21-year-old sustained the injury in the last quarter of his side's thrilling four-point win over the Swans at the SCG, but managed to play out the game.
Bulldogs football manager Graham Lowe said surgery was deemed the best option for Jong.
"It's a small fracture that we've sought specialist advice on and we think the right thing to do is to stabilise it, which he'll have done this afternoon," Lowe told the club's website on Monday.
"We expect him to miss the next one-to-two weeks."
Jong, who was recruited by the Bulldogs with pick No.9 in the 2011 rookie draft, had impressed in his five appearances this season, averaging 19 touches and six tackles.
The Bulldogs take on St Kilda at Etihad Stadium this Saturday.
