1. Records tumble as Giants continue to make big strides
Best opening quarter in club history. First win over Adelaide in six attempts. Three consecutive victories for the first time. The first 12 inside 50s of the match. These were some of the milestones in the Giants' big victory over the Crows, which lifts the club to a 6-2 win-loss record and, for now, third place on the AFL ladder. The League's newest club still needs to beat seven more teams - Collingwood, Essendon, Fremantle, Geelong, North Melbourne, Richmond and West Coast – to complete the sweep.

2. More injuries for the Crows
Adelaide was restricted to just two interchange players from the 20-minute mark of the third term when Rory Laird suffered concussion in a head clash with teammate Jake Lever. Umpires stopped play for several minutes as Crows medical staff attended to the 21-year-old Laird, before he was put on a stretcher and driven off the ground. In positive signs, Laird raised his hand to the crowd as he came off. The visitors had already activated their sub earlier in the quarter, with Sam Kerridge donning the red vest after hurting his ankle. The Crows already have a lengthy injury list with Rory Sloane, Richard Douglas, Matt Jaensch, Brad Crouch and Brodie Smith all sidelined.
3. Cameron faces nervous wait
The Giants will be sweating on the Match Review Panel's findings after spearhead Jeremy Cameron was placed on report for forceful front-on contact on Kyle Cheney. Cameron made high contact with Cheney as both players were scrambling for the footy about 30 metres out from goal. The Giants forward appeared to turn his body to the side while Cheney had his head over the footy at the time contact was made. Cameron's case will be helped by the fact Cheney was unharmed in the incident and the majority of contact appeared to be to the Crow's shoulder.

4. Coleman logjam
Adelaide's Taylor Walker kept pace with West Coast's Josh Kennedy in the race of the Coleman Medal on Saturday. In the early game, Kennedy booted four in the Eagles' win over St Kilda, increasing his season haul to 31. Walker entered the round six goals behind the Eagles' spearhead and stayed an even half dozen adrift with four majors in the loss. He now has 25 for the year, level with the Saints' Josh Bruce. Meanwhile, Walker's teammate Eddie Betts sits in second place with 29 after booting three majors on a disappointing day for the Crows, while Giant Jeremy Cameron is still in the mix with his two taking him to 26 for the year.
5. Back to the drawing board for Crows' pre-game routine
The Crows found themselves on the back foot from the opening bounce, as GWS shot out of the blocks with the opening five goals of the match. After 12 minutes the inside-50 count read 12-0 in the home side's favour. And while the Crows narrowed the margin to five points in the second term they were unable to sustain the rally. Adelaide coach Phil Walsh said after the match the club had "invested a bit of time in changing a couple of things with our warm up and what we did on ground" in a bid to get off to a fast start. Clearly it did not have the desired result, with Walsh saying the Giants "did what they wanted to do".
