State league affiliate: Adelaide (SANFL)
This weekend: Port Adelaide v Adelaide - Sunday June 28, 2.10pm, Alberton Oval
Midfielder Brad Crouch was taken off the ground in the first quarter of the Crows' SANFL Showdown against Port Adelaide after experiencing left foot soreness.
The 21-year-old took no further part and will now have scans to determine the severity of his latest setback.
He fractured his left foot in the final round of the NAB Challenge against Port Adelaide in March and had surgery to repair the injury.
The luckless Crow made a comeback via the SANFL three weeks ago, but was rested last weekend after experiencing pain in his foot.
In better news, midfielder Jarryd Lyons could fill the void left by the injured Rory Sloane (cheekbone) after gathering a team-high 29 disposals, 11 clearances and eight tackles in the Crows' 20-point win.
Defender Brodie Martin played his best game of the year with 24 touches and seven marks, while key tall James Podsiadly provided a strong aerial presence in attack with five goals and seven marks.
State league affiliate: Brisbane Lions (NEAFL)
This weekend: Brisbane Lions v Gold Coast - Saturday June 27, 12pm, Coorparoo
A standout game from Sam Mayes could not avert a 24-point loss to the Suns.
Mayes kept his side in the contest as he kicked six goals, while also collecting 29 touches in a sensational display.
Veteran full-back Daniel Merrett took part in his first competitive match in almost three months after overcoming a lingering hamstring injury.
The 30-year-old began on the interchange bench and was eased into his first appearance since round one, finishing with nine disposals (six kicks, three handballs) and four marks.
"He played three quarters in the end which was what was planned, so we were happy that he got through unscathed," Lions football manager Dean Warren told AFL.com.au.
Zac O'Brien also had a field day with 39 possessions, while Ryan Lester (25), Mitch Golby (23) and Liam Dawson (23) were also prominent.
State league affiliate: Northern Blues (VFL)
This weekend: Northern Blues v Frankston - Sunday June 28, 11.25am, Etihad Stadium
Defender Michael Jamison "pulled up really well" from his second straight VFL appearance after overcoming a calf injury.
A Carlton spokesman told AFL.com.au Jamison played 80-85 per cent of the game – a 20 per cent increase from his comeback match against Werribee last weekend – and finished with 18 touches.
Six-goal hauls to tall Liam Jones and rookie Blaine Johnson set up the 157-point win, which saw the Blues finish with 29.8 to Frankston's 3.8.
Draftee Blaine Boekhorst was also among the many standouts with 29 disposals, while defender Matthew Dick had 28 touches in his return from a calf injury.
Defender-turned-forward Matthew Watson (three goals) suffered a suspected hip injury and didn't take any further part after three-quarter time.
State league affiliate: Collingwood (VFL)
This weekend: Collingwood v Box Hill Hawks - Saturday June 27, 12.12pm, Victoria Park
Young Collingwood forward Darcy Moore could be called on to make his senior debut against Hawthorn next week after an excellent performance against Box Hill on Saturday.
Moore, pick No.9 in last year's draft, took a huge pack mark and then converted truly in the first five minutes, finishing with three goals.
The 199cm forward appears to be over the hamstring injury he sustained in April earlier this season.
Ben Reid collected 24 disposals and 13 marks before sitting out the final term with calf cramp.
Tony Armstrong (27 touches) and Ben Kennedy (27) were the major ball winners for the Pies, while Patrick Karnezis (three goals) also hit the scoreboard.
Ben Sinclair got through the game unscathed after a long-term hamstring injury.
State league affiliate: Essendon (VFL)
This weekend: Port Melbourne v Essendon - Saturday June 27, 2pm, North Port Oval
Midfielder Heath Hocking made a promising comeback from a persistent groin injury, booting two goals in the Bombers' 11-point win.
It was the 27-year-old's first competitive hit-out since last year's elimination final against North Melbourne.
Onballer David Zaharakis also got through unscathed in his return from an ankle injury he suffered in round six against Fremantle, and was named among his side's best.
Defender-turned-forward Tayte Pears (three goals) and draftee Kyle Langford (two) contributed in attack for the Bombers
Looking forward to my first run around in 9 months, thanks to everyone for the support much appreciated!! @EssendonFC

Utility Tendai Mzungu staked his claim for an AFL recall with a team-high 26 touches (15 kicks, 11 handballs), nine inside 50s, six tackles and a goal in Peel's 62-point win.
Fellow axed Docker Matt Taberner also responded in the best possible way with four goals to go with his 18 disposals (14 kicks, four handballs) and seven marks up forward.
Goalkicker Max Duffy (14 touches, four goals), draftee Lachie Weller (23), youngster Connor Blakely (23) and ruckman Zac Clarke (21, 36 hit-outs) were other notable standouts.

State league affiliate: Box Hill Hawks (VFL)
This weekend: Collingwood v Box Hill Hawks - Saturday June 27, 12.12pm, Victoria Park
Defender Matt Spangher limped from the field in the third quarter of the Hawks' two-point loss to the Magpies after injuring his right ankle in a marking contest.
With key defender James Frawley (dislocated shoulder) looking at a spell on the sidelines, the sight of Spangher icing his ankle on the bench in the final term was not a positive one.
The injury-plagued defender returned to the field in attacking 50 early in the final term after getting his ankle assessed and re-taped, but was rested soon after.
Spangher has not played at senior level since last year's Grand Final, battling calf issues over the pre-season and suffering a hamstring strain in his first VFL match for the year.
Jonathan Simpkin (29 disposals) and Alex Woodward (28) were the pick of the Hawks' midfielders.
Swingman Ryan Schoenmakers spent time at both ends of the ground but didn't impact the match.
Spangher back on the bench with ice on his ankle. His day seems to be done. #PJVFL #OurTime

State league affiliate: Richmond (VFL)
This weekend: Richmond v Williamstown - Saturday June 27, 12pm, Punt Road Oval
Forward Sam Lloyd and rookie Jayden Short were prominent with three goals apiece in the Tigers' 40-point loss.
Defender David Astbury made a successful return from a hamstring strain, while midfielder Matt Arnot and rookie Matt Thomas were also named among Richmond's best players in an otherwise disappointing day.
Draftee Connor Menadue, the No.33 pick in last year's draft, responded with two goals after being omitted from the Tigers' round 13 clash against the Sydney Swans.
The Tigers struggled to cover the losses of AFL-listed trio Chris Newman, Nathan Gordon and Kane Lambert, who all took the field against the Swans after their VFL appearances last week.
State league affiliate: Sandringham (VFL)
This weekend: Sandringham v Footscray - Sunday June 28, 2pm, Trevor Barker Beach Oval
Forward Paddy McCartin, last year's No.1 draft selection, led the goalkicking with four majors from his 14 possessions in the Zebras' thrilling three-point win.
"He provided a real good target for us up forward and had seven shots at goal from eight marks," Sandringham coach Paul Hudson told AFL.com.au.
"The pleasing part about his eight marks was there were some really strong contested ones among them."
Hudson said tall Tom Hickey (16 possessions, one goal) worked well with McCartin, while youngster Jack Sinclair (22, nine tackles) "played like an AFL footballer".
Hudson confirmed onballer Tom Curren (ankle) and omitted midfielder Blake Acres (finger) sustained injuries in the first half. The severity of both injuries was unknown at this stage.
Defender Cameron Shenton and forward Ahmed Saad registered two goals apiece.

Jack, the younger brother of Swans co-captain Kieren, racked up 29 touches, while also booting two majors. He also had seven tackles.
Dean Towers did his senior chances little harm with 21 disposals and a goal.
George Hewett, pick No.32 in the 2013 draft, also impressed with 20 disposals and 10 tackles.
State league affiliate: East Perth (WAFL)
