West Coast locks away impressive young midfielder to new deal
IN-FORM utility Elliot Yeo has signed a new three-year contract with West Coast.
The 21-year-old has enjoyed a career-best year, playing every game bar one and averaging 19 disposals in a variety of roles.
The West Australian has played in both defence and the midfield, and was forced to ruck last weekend against Hawthorn after ruckman Callum Sinclair was withdrawn before the bounce.
"It’s great to have Ellliot commit to the club for the next three years," Eagles general manager Craig Vozzo said.
"We are building an exciting young list and Elliot is an important component in that.
"Whatever happens with our club over the closing stages of the 2015 season, we are aiming to build towards a period of sustained success and Elliot, with the attributes he has, should be a pivotal player in that plan."
Yeo joined the Eagles last year after two years on the Brisbane Lions’ list.
The Lions drafted Yeo at pick No.30 after a standout Draft Combine, where he led the agility run and vertical jump tests.
Yeo was traded for pick No.28 in the 2013 AFL Draft, which the Lions used to select last year’s Rising Star winner Lewis Taylor.
