GOLD Coast forward Sam Day has escaped serious injury after a scary incident that saw him taken off Metricon Stadium in a neck brace against Essendon.
Day came off second best in a marking contest when he caught the hip of Bomber Mark Baguley on the way to the ground.
He lay prone before receiving attention from Gold Coast medicos, who took the utmost care in putting a brace on his neck.

There was a delay that lasted six minutes as Day was assisted from the field on a medivac.
He was taken straight to hospital for precautionary scans, but the club released a tweet following the match with good news.
"Scans have come back all clear for @SammyDay12," said the tweet, that included a pic of Day holding the thumbs up.
