CARLTON has boosted its ruck stocks with the signing of former Gold Coast big man Daniel Gorringe.
The 23-year-old joins the Blues as a delisted free agent after playing 22 games in five years at the Suns.
"To bring in another young talent who is eager and hungry for more senior opportunities only strengthens our playing list," Blues list manager Stephen Silvagni said.
"Daniel has an excellent leap and the ability to move around the ground is a mark of his athleticism, and the fact he’s already had five years of AFL-system experience is a real bonus."
Gorringe was taken with pick No.10 in the 2010 NAB AFL Draft, but struggled to nail down a senior spot ahead of Tom Nicholls and Zac Smith.
The 200cm ruckman joins a young group of big Blues headed by Matthew Kreuzer, Cameron Wood and former Giant Andrew Phillips.
Gorringe is the sixth new player at Carlton after Phillips, Sam Kerridge (Adelaide), Jed Lamb (GWS), Lachie Plowman (GWS) and Liam Sumner (GWS) all joined during the trade period.
