TENDAI Mzungu remains Fremantle's time-trial king after winning the club's 3km test on Wednesday morning for the second-straight year.
The 29-year-old utility has long been one of the Dockers' best endurance athletes and he proved it again with a personal best time at a closed session at UWA Sports Park in Perth.
Mzungu beat home close friend Matt de Boer, who also finished second last year, with Michael Barlow finishing third.
Tommy Sheridan, young key position prospect Alex Pearce and mid-sized defender Ethan Hughes also performed well.
"It's a good base line to see how everyone is tracking," Mzungu said on the club's website.
"Ross (Lyon) was pretty pleased with how everyone went overall.
"It's always a gruelling test but everyone did really well and came back in good shape."
The Dockers opted to do the session early in the morning to avoid the heat as the temperature was set to soar to 34 degrees in Perth on Wednesday.
