ESSENDON is chasing at least one more key position top-up player to fill out its list, coach John Worsfold says.
Former Brisbane Lions-listed big man Sam Michael, who stands at 199cm, is in the box seat to claim that spot given he is training with the squad and appeared for the Dons in last season's NAB Challenge.
Worsfold said the Bombers were casting the net far and wide to find suitable tall options.
"We are happy with what we've got, but we are still looking," Worsfold said at Tullamarine on Friday morning.
"We've still got two spots potentially left that we can fill and we're still exploring what's available."
The acquisitions of ex-Geelong swingman Mitch Brown in last year's draft and former Hawk Sam Grimley as one of the 10 top-up players afforded to them allows the Bombers more flexibility when it comes to using their tall stocks.
But Worsfold said another key position player would be ideal.
"One more key position player gives us a bit more flexibility to use those guys in those roles, so that's why it's important we add one more key position player," Worsfold said.
