BRISBANE Lions ruckman Stefan Martin has been knocked out after being crunched by Gold Coast enforcer Steven May.
The hit saw May take his eyes off the ball, leap into the air and make high contact with Martin, who lied motionless on the ground until the trainers could attend to him.
The incident happened less than a minute before half-time and Martin was stretchered from the field but was not taken to hospital.
May was reported for the incident, which is likely to see the Suns player miss several weeks.
Robinson case sets MRP precedent: May
Steven May a few days ago: "I have had to learn to control my aggression, so I hope I stay out of the umpires book this weekend."

The Suns defender was suspended for three games last year after colliding with Lions captain Tom Rockliff.
This means May has an applicable bad record that would increase any suspension by one game.
AFL.com.au's Tribunal expert Nathan Schmook expects May to receive the most severe penalty to date this season, eclipsing the four-game ban handed to GWS forward Jeremy Cameron for his late hit on young Lion Rhys Mathieson in the NAB Challenge.
