PORT Adelaide chairman David Koch has slammed his team in the wake of the Power's 86-point loss to Greater Western Sydney on Sunday. 

The loss to the Giants was the second time the Power had suffered a demoralising defeat this season. It lost the Showdown against Adelaide in round two by 58 points.

"A disgrace. Rest assured questions are being asked and answers demanded," Koch tweeted on Sunday night, in response to a tweet that called for a better performance from the team.

"(It) undermines a historic week. Depressing end to a terrific couple of days (for Port Adelaide)."

Koch was referring to his club's venture into China. Port Adelaide last week has signed a memorandum of understanding to play a game for premiership points in China, as early as next year.

Power coach Ken Hinkley downplayed Koch's criticism on Monday evening, saying that he was yet to speak with the chairman following the dismal loss to the Giants.

"I have no doubt that David, at the right time, as he always does (will have a chat)," Hinkley told Adelaide radio station 5AA.

"We chat regularly and (chief executive) Keith (Thomas) and myself chat regularly.

"They're all fair and reasonable questions that people ask because of the performance.

"David, as the chairman of the club, and Keith, as CEO, they put me in charge of the football program, and that's my responsibility to answer the questions that they need answering."

The Power are 2-2 and play Geelong at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.
