THE BRISBANE Lions expect captain Tom Rockliff to avoid a lengthy stint on the sidelines despite injuring his hamstring against Port Adelaide.
The ball magnet pulled up lame after going for a ball 15 minutes into the second term at Adelaide Oval on Sunday and immediately clutched for his right hamstring.
Rockliff will undergo scans during the week but coach Justin Leppitsch said early signs suggested it was a minor nerve-related hamstring injury, similar to the one that sidelined him during the club’s NAB Challenge campaign.
"It's minor, but it's happened a few times now," Leppitsch said.
"It's sort of a neural hamstring (injury) and each time it’s only been a week or two, but it's sort of been a month apart.
"There's some things going on there that we need to investigate."
The Lions play Collingwood at the Gabba and then Melbourne at the MCG in the next two weeks.
