GEELONG will be without midfielder Josh Caddy for up to two months after scans confirmed he strained his medial ligament against the Western Bulldogs on Saturday night.
The unlucky Cat was injured late in the game after a pack crashed into his leg, but thankfully for Geelong the midfielder has avoided surgery.
Cats football manager Steve Hocking said he expects Caddy to be sidelined for 6-8 weeks and is hopeful he will return later in the season.
Hocking said Caddy would be a loss for the Cats as his strong body around the ball had been important in the Cats' improved efforts at winning centre clearances.
He has also kicked 13 goals in 13 games to be fifth in the Cats' goalkicking for 2016.
Geelong hopes to regain in-form midfielder Cam Guthrie after he was a late withdrawal from the game against the Western Bulldogs due to an illness.
