ESSENDON rookie Gach Nyuon has been hit with a suspended fine and forced to attend counselling for breaking club protocol when he was arrested for allegedly making death threats towards an Uber driver.
The club also indicated further punishments could be handed down at the conclusion of the police investigation into the matter.
The uncapped 19-year-old will also be asked to work with the Bombers' community department as a result of his Sunday morning arrest.
"The club understands this matter remains the subject of a police investigation and takes the allegations seriously," the Bombers said in a club statement.
"In consultation with the leadership group, the club will determine if any further action is required when this process has been completed."
Nyuon is expected to be charged over the incident, where it is also suggested he made criminal damage, resisted police and had been drunk in a public place.
The Sudanese-born ruckman, recruited from Dandenong Stingrays, was Essendon's top pick in last year's rookie draft.
