RICHMOND has extended Bachar Houli's contract until the end of 2018, and locked in midfielder Shaun Grigg for next season.
Houli had already fulfilled a trigger clause to play on next season, but the Tigers decided to extend the popular veteran's time by a further season.
Grigg signed a one-year deal after playing 19 games in a consistent 2016.
Houli, 28, began with the Tigers in 2011 after 26 games with Essendon. He suffered a fractured wrist this season, which restricted him to just 11 games.
He has been in good form in recent weeks since returning from the injury.
Grigg played 43 games for Carlton before starting at Richmond in 2011. The 28-year-old has played 123 games and been a solid performer in the midfield.
Both players have regularly finished in the top 10 of the Tigers' best and fairest since joining Richmond.
Richmond has begun to lock in several players in recent weeks, but solid performers Kane Lambert and Ben Griffiths remain unsigned.
Other clubs expect the Tigers to secure Gold Coast midfielder Dion Prestia during the trade period.
