THE WESTERN Bulldogs haven't ruled out Lin Jong playing again this season with the midfielder expected to start running this week in his recovery from a broken collarbone.

Jong sustained the injury in a crunching tackle from Eagle Jeremy McGovern in the second quarter of the Bulldogs' elimination final win over West Coast.

The Bulldogs would probably have to win their way through to the Grand Final for Jong to have any chance of playing again this season.

Club football manager Graham Loewe told westernbulldogs.com.au Jong's surgery went as well as it could have.

"We’ve had surgical fixation on Friday, he commenced his rehabilitation yesterday, and he’ll be back running on Wednesday," Loewe said.

In further injury news for the Dogs, first-year sensation Marcus Adams will miss the remainder of the season after the key defender underwent surgery on a foot injury.

The hulking stopper sustained a Lisfranc fracture in the round 15 win over Sydney and hasn't played since.

"We took a conservative approach to Marcus Adams’ foot injury, so decided to rule him out for the rest of the season," Lowe said.

"We’ve taken the opportunity to organise shoulder surgery for him, which was completed last week."

Recruited with pick 35 in last year's NAB AFL Draft, the 23-year-old played 11 games in 2016, and impressed with his contested marking and drive from defence.
