MATT de Boer's career at Fremantle is over after the midfielder and club mutually agreed to part ways.
De Boer announced his departure on Twitter on Tuesday afternoon.
"Special thanks to everyone for all of your love and support throughout my journey with Fremantle. Ready for the next episode," de Boer wrote.
All the retirements and delistings
AFL.com.au has confirmed the unrestricted free agent and Fremantle agreed at a meeting earlier on Tuesday that he would move on after eight seasons with the club.
Fremantle is expected to announce more list changes soon.
De Boer has attracted interest from clubs outside Western Australia but the 26-year-old has been preparing for life after football for some time and could elect to pursue business interests instead.
However, it's believed if the right opportunity came up during the player exchange period de Boer would seriously consider it.
De Boer played 138 games with the Dockers but just four this year as coach Ross Lyon focused on blooding youngsters in the wake of the club's poor start to the season.
De Boer's form in the WAFL was outstanding. In 16 games this year, the West Australian averaged 30 possessions and eight tackles, and was a key player in the Peel Thunder's run to its maiden WAFL premiership. He finished second in this year's Sandover Medal.
The Dockers also delisted Tendai Mzungu, Jack Hannath, Clancee Pearce, Brady Grey and rookie Josh Deluca on Tuesday.
