BRISBANE Lions defender Jack Frost will miss the round one clash against Gold Coast after accepting a one-match ban for a dangerous tackle on Brandon Matera.
But Hawthorn midfielder Liam Shiels was more fortunate, escaping suspension for his late, high hit on Geelong's Darcy Lang.
Frost was charged by the Match Review Panel with rough conduct after slinging Matera into the ground in the teams' JLT Community Series clash on Sunday.
The MRP graded the tackle as careless conduct with medium impact to the head, resulting in a two-match ban that was reduced to one match with an early guilty plea.
Matera spent the minimum 15 minutes off the ground to be assessed for concussion, which was deemed enough to push the grading from low to medium impact.
Frost was the only player suspended in the first round of pre-season matches, with four players offered $1000 fines.

Shiels escaped without suspension for his strike on Lang, which was delivered with his left forearm well after his opponent had disposed of the ball.
The MRP graded the strike as careless conduct, rather than intentional, and low impact to the head, allowing Shiels to accept a $1000 fine.
Fellow Hawk Kade Stewart accepted a $1000 fine for engaging in rough conduct on Geelong veteran Andrew Mackie.
West Coast backman Will Schofield also accepted a $1000 fine for rough conduct after charging into the back of Greater Western Sydney defender Nathan Wilson.
North Melbourne forward Jarrad Waite was charged with kneeing Sydney Swans defender Harry Marsh and accepted a $1000 fine.
