DEFENDER Brianna Davey has won Carlton's AFLW best and fairest award.
The 22-year-old marquee player, a former Matildas goalkeeper, beat key defender Danielle Hardiman and ruck Alison Downie for the award, announced at a function in Melbourne on Thursday night.
"Brianna has truly exceeded our expectations both on and off the field this season," coach Damien Keeping said.
"Her dedication and commitment to the team is evident in everything she does and she is a very deserving winner of this inaugural award.
"We have high hopes Brianna will continue to develop and continue to be a positive role model for those who come through the ranks."
Breann Moody was named Carlton's most improved player, while co-vice-captain Madeline Keryk's contributions on and off the field were recognised with the 'Blue Bloods' award, acknowledging her dedication to club values.
