COLLINGWOOD midfielder Jordan De Goey is ready to return to the Magpies' senior side after serving his penance for lying to the club.
De Goey has spent the past month playing in the VFL following a three-week club-imposed ban from the AFL side for misleading club officials on a broken hand he sustained in a pub fight.
The 21-year-old is expected to play his first game of the AFL season against Carlton on Saturday after dominant state league form.
His latest VFL outing reaped 32 disposals, five clearances, five inside 50s and two goals against Sandringham on Saturday.
Speaking to the club's website following that impressive performance, De Goey said he's hopeful of facing the Blues.
"I've done my time now, so it's just up to the coaches (whether they pick me)," De Goey said.
"I think (my performance) was better than last week, I'm just getting back going now.
"Yeah, (the whole experience has) been a bit frustrating overall, but it is what it is."
Joining De Goey in the senior selection queue are fellow midfielders James Aish (20 possessions), Rupert Wills (35 possessions) and Jarryd Blair (33 possessions).
Father-son recruit Callum Brown had his best VFL game for the season with 26 disposals and five inside 50s.
Defender Matthew Scharenberg collected 25 touches and seven marks.
Dumped key forward Jesse White kicked two goals, while high-priced recruit Chris Mayne failed to hit the scoreboard.
