1. Footy fever hits Shanghai
History was made in Shanghai on Sunday with Port Adelaide becoming the first club to win four premiership points outside of Australia and New Zealand. While the game itself held so much significance for the Power and the AFL in terms of their venture into China, it was as vitally important for Port Adelaide's season. The victory now sees them move to 5-3 for the season and reestablishes the Power as finals contenders. From Port Adelaide's point of the view the game at Jiangwan Stadium was a success. Everything went right for them in the week leading up to the game, and on match day. There was even a Power omen before the game, with the stadium speakers blaring out the Port Adelaide theme song, instead of the Australian national anthem.

2. Keegan's call up
Gold Coast big man Keegan Brooksby was attending a pre-match function when he got a tap on the shoulder from a Suns official just minutes before the first bounce. The 27-year-old was told he was to play his first senior game of the season after key defender Rory Thompson injured his hamstring in the warm-up. Brooksby quicky changed into his kit and raced out of the changerooms, just making it in time for the national anthems. As for Thompson, he was left to watch on from the sidelines for yet another week. Sunday's match was supposed to be his first in a month after recovering from a quad injury.

3. Robbie Gray does enough
There was so much speculation over the fitness of Robbie Gray leading into the game with the Port Adelaide forward carrying a couple of niggling injuries. The Power star didn't look 100 per cent fit out on the ground on Sunday but was still dangerous in attack. He kicked two goals and had 13 touches, but more importantly had the attention of Suns co-captain Steven May all game. Gray will now have a much-needed rest this week with Port Adelaide scheduled a bye before facing Geelong on a Thursday night in round 10.

4. Westhoff's impossible goal
Port Adelaide forward Justin Westhoff wowed China with a spectacular goal in the second term that will surely be a contender for goal of the year. Westhoff was chasing the ball towards the boundary in the forward pocket, and despite the impossible angle, he chose to try and soccer the ball towards the goal. The ball bounced high, and over the goal umpire's head, sending the Port Adelaide faithful into an absolute frenzy. It was his first goal for the day, and gave the Power an unassailable 41-point lead late in the second term. There was no doubt it was the highlight of the match and one goal he won't forget.

5. 'He looks like Buddha': Gaz wins over the locals
He is arguably one of the greatest players of the modern era, and it seems Gary Ablett's reputation isn't just confined to Australian shores. The Gold Coast star was a fan favourite among the locals at Jiangwan stadium. The Chinese crowd was gasping in awe at one stage as he scooped up the ball and had a shot at goal in the first term. Unfortunately he missed, but the bald midfielder attracted a lot of attention despite perhaps not playing his best game. Several locals telling AFL.com.au he looked like Buddha. There was no doubt though who the locals in the crowd were barracking for. The red team certainly wasn't the lucky side on Sunday but they won the Chinese over with their guernsey.
