PORT Adelaide star Chad Wingard is set to miss bumper Thursday night clashes against Geelong and Hawthorn after suffering a calf complaint.
Wingard hurt his calf at training and scans on Tuesday revealed a minor injury, robbing the Power of one of their key players for probably the next two weeks.
"Chad pulled up from training with some tightness, and we sent him for a precautionary scan," head of high performance Darren Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au.
"There was some low-level signalling there, so in line with our no-risk approach we’ll keep him out of this week and probably the week after that."
Wingard – a two-time All Australian as a livewire half-forward – has added X-factor to Port's midfield mix this season, averaging a career-high 22 disposals and booting 10 goals.
He won the Power's goalkicking the past two seasons with hauls of 38 and 53 majors, respectively.
Port's injury list remains minimal, with Nathan Krakouer (heel) and Will Snelling (ankle) the only other players ruled out of round 10 with one-week injuries.
