PEARCE Hanley has overcome a heel injury and will play for Gold Coast's NEAFL team at the weekend – his first game in six weeks.
The former Brisbane Lion has had a difficult first season with the Suns, playing just one senior game.
After a terrific pre-season, Hanley played the opening round against his former club before flying to Ireland to spend time with his younger brother, who died of cancer.

Upon returning to Australia, the 29-year-old played in the Suns' NEAFL team and suffered the heel injury.
He is one of a long list of Suns due to return from injury this weekend.
Midfield ace David Swallow will play the senior team's game against Melbourne in Alice Springs after missing Gold Coast's match in Shanghai against Port Adelaide with a knee injury.
Trent McKenzie (hamstring) and Jesse Lonergan (shoulder) will join Hanley for the NEAFL contest against the Sydney Swans in Newcastle on Saturday.
Key defender Rory Thompson was a late withdrawal from the game against Port with a hamstring niggle and will likely play at the lower level if he gets through training this week.
The news isn’t as good for wingman Matt Rosa, who will miss a third successive week with lingering concussion symptoms.
"Unfortunately for Matt, he has had another recurrence of his concussion,” Gold Coast football manager Marcus Ashcroft told the club's website.
"He didn’t get through his testing early on this week, so he will be unavailable.
"We’ll get further MRI scans and tests and we’ll just wait and see with Matt over the next bit of time."
