GUN TRIO Lance Franklin, Joel Selwood and Luke Shuey are all free to play this week after escaping suspensions for high-contact incidents when the Match Review Panel sat on Monday. 

But while the stars breathed a sigh of relief after being offered fines by the MRP, the news wasn't so good for Swan Zak Jones and Gold Coast's Matt Rosa.  

Jones accepted a one-game suspension for an off-the-ball hit on Richmond's Dan Butler, while Rosa has accepted a one-game suspension for a strike on Carlton's Dale Thomas. 

Behind-the-goals vision showed Jones striking Butler high during Saturday's clash at the MCG, with the Panel grading it intentional conduct with low impact to the head.

Rosa was also charged with intentional striking for a swinging arm that made high contact to Thomas and was graded as low impact.   

Jones will miss Friday night's clash against Essendon at the SCG, while Rosa will be unavailable for Sunday's clash against St Kilda at Etihad Stadium.  

Selwood's Brownlow hopes are alive after the Geelong skipper accepted a $1000 fine for rough conduct on West Coast star Sam Mitchell, having fallen into the back of the midfielder's head and made high contact with his forearm.

Mitchell, meanwhile, was cleared of any wrongdoing for his retaliation, with the MRP deeming his actions were not a striking motion and there was insufficient force to warrant a charge. 

Franklin accepted a $1000 fine for rough conduct after his bump on Tiger Connor Menadue was graded as careless conduct with low impact to the head.

The Sydney superstar bumped Menadue while he had his head over the ball, but the young Tiger got to his feet quickly to take his kick.

Shuey accepted a $1000 fine for his bump on Cats superstar Patrick Dangerfield during West Coast's win at Domain Stadium on Thursday night.   

The Eagles midfielder was charged with rough conduct but the hit was graded as low impact because Dangerfield was able to play on and take his kick. 

St Kilda veteran Nick Riewoldt accepted a $1000 fine for a strike on North Melbourne defender Scott Thompson on Friday night that was graded intentional, low impact and body contact. 

Meanwhile, Carlton's Dale Thomas and Richmond's Jack Riewoldt have been cleared of wrongdoing in their respective collisions with Gold Coast's Adam Saad and Sydney's Luke Parker.
