Harry Cunningham - 6
A late inclusion for Lewis Melican who had quad tightness but managed well, grabbing 19 possessions around centre-half forward.
Lance Franklin - 8
A knock on the upper thigh in the first term slowed him down, but only momentarily. The Coleman Medal winner exploded in the second quarter with four goals before being put in cotton wool in the fourth term.

Heath Grundy - 7
Looked jumpy early in the game, along with his defensive colleagues. But got into a rhythm and ended up playing a beauty, with 22 possessions, including 10 marks, three of which were contested.
Dan Hannebery - 6
Sets a high standard every week, but took a knock in the first quarter which might have put him off. Still, he ended up with 21 touches and six tackles.
Isaac Heeney - 6
Lost some blood in his first contest of the game and took time to get his bearings. Once he did, he was energetic in close and provided options outside, though his influence was limited.
George Hewett - 6
Some really good defensive work was his main contribution, including six tackles, as well as six contested possessions.
SHOWREEL: Soaring Swans dominate in the air
Kieren Jack - 7
Looked gone at the start of the season but has gradually worked his way back to valuable form, which he offered again in support of Parker, Lloyd and Kennedy. Kicked a classy first-term goal as well.
Zak Jones - 7
Continued his irresistible form this season with another whole-hearted and aggressive performance bursting out of half back.
Josh Kennedy - 9
The Swans’ influence inside was a key to their grabbing the ascendancy before half time and Kennedy was his outstanding best in the engine room. Hoarded a remarkable 18 contested possessions and eight clearances, not to mention two goals.

Jake Lloyd - 7
Another strong finals performance from a player who has this season shown he belongs in one of the competition’s best midfields.
Jarrad McVeigh - 6
In his 299th game, the veteran was one of Sydney’s highest possession gatherers until late in the game. Another dependable leader's performance across half back.
Callum Mills - 6
Plenty to prove in finals football and, though his ball work was not great, he made up for it with a big effort in defence, laying five tackles and doing plenty of work off the ball.
Sam Naismith - 5
Not his best game, beaten fairly comfortably by Tom Bellchambers, but got strong support from Dean Towers.
Five things we learned from Sydney v Essendon
Nic Newman - 5
Inconspicuous for much of the match, but emerged with 15 touches in an important supporting role.
Tom Papley - 5
Seemed like a night for taller players, but Papley never stopped looking for opportunities. Scored a goal, among 16 disposals.
Luke Parker - 8
The midfield general celebrated his 150th game with a massive second quarter when the Swans grabbed control of the game, and kept his foot on the gas, ending up with 27 possessions, 16 of them contested.
Dane Rampe - 6
Surrendered plenty of height to Daniher and gave away a bag full of free kicks. But also made the key forward work hard for every possession in one of the game’s highlight contests.
Sam Reid - 6
Was a spare man for much of the game, whether in defence or midfield, yet still was one of the team’s highest winners of contested possessions.
Gary Rohan - 6
Has the ability to inject himself into the game just when his side needs it. Did that a number of times, most notably when he marked and goaled after the Bombers’ rally early in the third term.
Callum Sinclair - 8
Kept Kurt Tippett out of the side and repaid the faith with a huge performance at forward, taking four contested marks and kicking three goals.
Nick Smith - 6
Taken a back seat this season to fellow defenders Rampe and Grundy, but showed his class with a pretty much error-free outcome at the back.
Dean Towers - 8
On a streak of career-best form. Valuable pinch-hitting as a spare ruckman, hard around the contests, 14 touches, five tackles and three goals. One of his best games.
