COLLINGWOOD youngster Ben Crocker will be at the Pies for another two years after agreeing to a contract extension. 

The 20-year-old played only three games this season after 10 in his debut year in 2016, but AFL.com.au understands the new deal will extend his stay at the club until at least the end of 2019. 

The Pies drafted the former Oakleigh Charger with their last pick at the 2015 NAB AFL Draft – No.65 overall – and his versatility has appealed as a long kicking and aggressive player who attacks the ball. 

He is good overhead and has also shown an ability to hit the scoreboard, averaging one goal in the first 13 games of his career.

One of Crocker's fellow 2015 draftees at the club, Tom Phillips, remains unsigned despite contract talks being on-going over recent months. 

Phillips was Collingwood's only nominee for the NAB AFL Rising Star award and averaged 21 disposals in 18 games this season.

"That'll be sorted in the next week or two I reckon. Obviously the preference is to be at Collingwood but I'm letting the manager sort that out at the moment," Phillips told AFL.com.au at this month's NAB AFL Rising Star ceremony. 

"I wanted to play out the rest of the season. We'd been in talks for a little while now but I just wanted to get the season done and now I've got a bit more thinking time to really process and negotiate and weigh up where I'm at."
