THE AFL will decide after Easter whether it will take further action against an Adelaide fan, who sparked an altercation with Richmond coach Damien Hardwick following Thursday night's loss to the Crows.
After watching his side lose the Grand Final rematch by six goals, Hardwick walked down the stairs through the crowd, but stopped after taking exception to a particular fan.
Hardwick turned around and had a few words with the man before pointing him out to security and continuing down the stairs.
There was no physical contact between the two parties.
"The ground security staff got the man's details after the altercation between him and Damien Hardwick," a League spokesman told AFL.com.au.
"The AFL will make a decision after Easter as to whether any action will be taken against the fan."
AFL boss Gillon McLachlan said the initial report from security showed the comments from the fan were "reasonably mild".
"It's not ideal clearly, but there's nothing too dramatic in it from what I've seen," he told 3AW.
"A coach walking through the middle of the crowd is challenging. The initial report of what was said was reasonably mild, but it’s a tense situation and we will follow it up."
The footage came to light after he fronted the media so Hardwick was able to avoid questions about the incident post-match.
The Crows released a statment on Friday afternoon, saying they would wait for the AFL investigation before deciding on a course of action.
"The club is awaiting the outcome of an investigation but would like to reiterate that the stadium should be a family friendly environment where people of all ages can enjoy our great game," it read.
"The club does not tolerate anti-social behaviour of any kind," said CEO Andrew Fagan.
