EXPLOSIVE Brisbane forward Charlie Cameron requires surgery on his right foot and will miss the rest of the season.

Scans on Tuesday morning confirmed Cameron had ruptured the Lisfranc ligament in Sunday's loss to North Melbourne.

"He will require surgery and will be out for the rest of the season," Brisbane general manager of football David Noble said.

The 23-year-old will have surgery next week.

It's a huge blow for the 1-10 Lions, with Cameron proving a sensational off-season acquisition with 17 goals in his first 11 games.

Speaking at a press conference earlier on Tuesday, Lions captain Dayne Zorko said losing Cameron was "a big out"

"His ability to provide forward pressure and a scoring option has been first class for us.

"He'll be a massive loss."

Cameron was not the only casualty from Sunday's loss to the Kangaroos, with Allen Christensen suffering concussion.

He will be tested later in the week to judge whether he is fit to play against Essendon on Sunday.

Mitch Robinson will miss three weeks after breaking a toe on his right foot, while Hugh McCluggage (calf) and Jarrod Berry (hamstring) will be tested on Thursday.
