ADELAIDE defender Luke Brown will miss Saturday night's clash with Hawthorn at the MCG due to an ankle injury.
However, the club expects the 25-year-old to be out for just one game and return for the round 15 encounter with West Coast at Adelaide Oval.
Brown injured his ankle in a marking contest in the fourth quarter of the Crows' three-point loss to Fremantle in Perth last Sunday.
"Scans have shown a lateral ankle sprain, which will keep Browny out for this weekend," Crows general manager of high performance Matt Hass said.
"Given we have the bye the week after, we expect him to only miss one match and return for our round 15 game against West Coast."
All Australian defender Rory Laird (hand) and star forward Tom Lynch (side strain) are unlikely to return for the Hawks clash, but will be given the green light if they get through training on Thursday.
Laird will come into the side for Brown if he's cleared to play, while experienced defender Kyle Cheney is another option.
If Cheney plays, it would be the 28-year-old's first AFL game since the 2016 semi-final against Sydney at the SCG.
