HOME and away form would dictate a comfortable Richmond victory in its qualifying final against Hawthorn on Thursday night but the Schick AFL Player Ratings shows the contest might be more even than expected.

For those who believe games are decided by a side's elite players, Hawthorn will have four of the top-six ranked individuals running onto the MCG.

However, the Tigers will have eight of the top 13 on the ground.

Despite taking home the AFL Players' Association Most Valuable Player award, there will be three people ranked ahead of Tom Mitchell.

He's not even the top-rated Hawk, with ruckman Ben McEvoy taking that honour.

Those 44 named have been ranked based on their Player Ratings below, which are calculated by Champion Data, taking into account an individual's past 40 matches over a rolling two-year period.
