AN EMBARASSED Simon Goodwin insists he's ready to coach Melbourne on Sunday against the Giants, despite being forced to cut short a press conference on Wednesday due to illness.
Goodwin fronted reporters on Wednesday but half way through his voice became to waiver, as it became apparent he was unwell.
Assistant coach Troy Chaplin stepped in to finish the media conference as Goodwin was assessed by the club doctor.
On Thursday morning at Casey Fields, Goodwin reassured reporters he was in good health.
"Yesterday was a bit of carry on and I didn't have a great day," he said.

"I just wasn't feeling too well at all and it was just a bit of a dizzy spell. I had a few tests, got sorted and felt fine.

The demands of coaching an AFL side are high, and Goodwin admitted it was probably a timely reminder to look after his own health and wellbeing, not just that of the team.
"I think it was just a little sign to say slow down a bit," he said.
