BRIGHT North Melbourne prospect Bailey Scott will undergo surgery on Tuesday night to repair a fractured bone in his left foot and faces an indefinite period on the sidelines.
The 18-year-old, who was the season's first NAB AFL Rising Star nominee, sustained the injury in a tackle in the second quarter of the VFL on Sunday.

Scott's setback follows his earlier concussion that also cost him time on the sidelines.
The son of 1996 Kangaroos premiership player Robert Scott has played four AFL games in his debut season after being a father-son selection in last year's draft.

"Bailey is a valuable addition to our group and we will be taking a precautionary approach to his recovery," North football boss Cameron Joyce said.
"He's an important part of the future of the club and has great potential.
"At this stage we won't be putting a timeframe on his return (and) rather will be taking a long-term approach to his recovery."
