ADELAIDE defender Luke Brown is off the free-agency table after signing a three-year contract extension with the Crows until the end of 2023.

The 27-year-old was due to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season before putting pen to paper on a deal that will likely see him finish his career at the Crows.

Brown has played 150 games with the Crows since debuting in 2012, regularly performing important lockdown roles on the opposition's best small forward each week.

"The environment at the club is fantastic at the moment, so I had no hesitation in extending my time here," Brown said.

"I'm an Adelaide boy and I always wanted to stay here, so it's good to get the deal done.

"I'm really looking forward to seeing what we can do this year and beyond."

Brown's re-signing comes hot on the heels of livewire defender Wayne Milera agreeing to a five-year extension last week.

"We're rapt to have Luke re-sign on the back of Wayne Milera last week," Crows list manager Justin Reid said.

"Browny often flies under the radar, but internally we know how important he is to our back six.

"He is a proven elite small defender and is highly respected by his teammates for his competitive approach and selfless nature."
