SAM COLLINS has signed a two-year contract extension that ties him to Gold Coast until at least the end of 2022.
The news continues a terrific pre-season for the Suns full-back, who last week was named as part of the club's six-man leadership group.
"The club gave me an opportunity at the end of 2018 and I’m looking forward to giving as much back to the Gold Coast as I can, both on and off the field," Collins said.
"It’s an exciting time to be involved.
"We’ve got a group of players who are keen to work hard and eager to improve."
Collins has made a huge impact since being thrown a lifeline by the Suns at the end of 2018, playing nine games last year before a leg injury curtailed his season.
The 25-year-old played 14 games in two year with Fremantle before being delisted at the end of 2017 and rejuvenating his career with a successful VFL season at Werribee.
Collins is an integral part of Gold Coast's backline and one of the most indispensable players on its list, with his ability to lockdown his direct opponent and generate attack through his intercept marking.
