PORT Adelaide is confident its star three-time best and fairest winner Robbie Gray will be fit for the resumption of the home and away season, despite breaking his toe in a gym mishap on the club's first day back at training.
Gray, 32, broke one of his toes after dropping weights equipment on his foot as the club returned to non-contact training on Monday, but the Power expect the veteran forward to start running again as early as Wednesday.
"It tells you everything you need to know about Robbie and his ability in the gym," Port Adelaide chief executive Keith Thomas joked on SEN SA on Wednesday morning.
"He dropped a weight – I don't know how heavy it was, probably about five pounds – but he dropped it and we think it's broken.

"It'll be fine (for round two). He's feeling much better, but more than a little embarrassed – and so he should be. He's a professional … come on!
"But he'll be fine. He'll be running today in one of those anti-gravity things. He doesn't need a lot of preparation anyway, we know that, so he'll be fine."
Port Adelaide was bolstered by the South Australian government approving both the Power and the Crows for full-contact training next week following the COVID-19 shutdown, with the club now no longer needing to travel to Gold Coast this Sunday.
It still remains hopeful of remaining in South Australia beyond June 11, having previously appeared set to move into an isolated Gold Coast hub for the start of the season, should the AFL approve a request for Port Adelaide and Adelaide to meet in a Showdown in round two.
