FRESH off a three-goal haul for Vic Metro in the NAB AFLW Under-18 National Championships, Zoe Barbakos has been signed by Hawthorn.
Playing as an over-ager, Barbakos showed off her silkiness at ground level and footy smarts as one of Metro's best in a thumping 53-point win over Vic Country.
The Sandringham Dragons product stands at 158cm and will turn 19 in November.
Comparatively new to football, she crossed from a tennis background to pick up the game with Beaumaris.
"Zoe is very new to elite football pathways, but she’s already shown a steep learning curve," Hawthorn list manager Mitch Cashion said.
"We’re really excited about the energy and competitiveness she brings in the forward half of the ground.
"Her limited exposure to talent programs gives her a large scope for improvement as we bring her into our system, especially under Bec Goddard.
"She has previously been very successful in tennis and athletics in her junior sporting career."
