WESTERN AUSTRALIA

Subiaco kicked off Round three of the WAFLW season with a 19-point win under lights against South Fremantle. Swan Districts posted a big 91-point win over West Perth. East Fremantle handed Claremont its first loss of the season in a two-point thriller at Revo Fitness Stadium.

AFLW-Listed Players

Ashley Sharp continues her strong comeback after having a baby in November, starring for Swan Districts in its win over West Perth. Sharp kicked four goals from 12 disposals in the win.

Eagle’s Shanae Davidson also played a hand in Swan Districts win collecting 18 disposals and four tackles.

Kellie Gibson kicked a goal and picked up 15 disposals in East Fremantle’s win in an effort to get a recall to the Eagle’s side for the final round of the season. Tayla Bresland also kicked a crucial goal for the Sharks in the win.

State League Players 

East Fremantle’s Sharon Wong piled on the pressure for the Sharks, laying 12 tackles to go with a team high 16 disposals in the tight win over Claremont. Mylee Leithch kicked two goals from 11 disposals to help the Sharks over the line.

Claire Ortlepp was in the best for the Tigers with her game high 21 disposals and five marks. Sasha Goranova wasn't far behind with 17 touches.

Jessica Cox lead Swan Districts with her game high 27 disposals and six marks and teammate Bethany Bond kicked three goals.

West Perth’s Kaitlyn Roper kicked her side's only goal in the loss against South Districts and also picked up 16 disposals. 

Subiaco’s Maddison Dodd and Tarnica Golisano were integral for the Lions picking up 23 and 18 disposals respectively. The Lions four first quarter goals set up the win with Amy Mullholland, Amy Hunt and Jessica Ritchie amongst the goal kickers.

Lauren Wakfer was one of the Bulldogs best on Friday night collecting 15 disposals,  20 hit outs and five tackles. Teammate Lauren Gauci led the Bulldogs with her 17 touches with Noa McNaughton and Ella Ward hitting the scoreboard with a goal each. 

SOUTH AUSTRALIA

North Adelaide picked up its third win of the season with a 51-point win over Woodville-West Torrens Eagles. Glenelg had an impressive 56-point win over Central Districts. Sturt continued its unbeaten start to the season with a 52-point over Norwood. South Adelaide were victors over West Adelaide with a 36-point win over North Adelaide.

AFLW-Listed Players

Ange Foley had a successful return from an ACL injury leading with a game high 24 disposals, six tackles, six inside 50s and a goal for Sturt.

Jasmyn Hewett also played a role in Sturt’s win with her 17 disposals, a goal, 24 hit outs and three clearances. Zoe Prowse also continues her development combining with Hewett in the ruck collecting 15 disposals and having 18 hit outs.

Nikki Gore lined up for South Adelaide and led with 27 disposals and 13 tackles in the Panthers win.

Jess Sedunary continued her good form for Woodville-West Torrens picking up 12 disposals and eight tackles in the loss.

State League Players

Jessica Bates helped the Tigers make it three in a row with her 15 disposals, nine tackles and one goal performance. Teammates Tessa Kohn and Caitlyn Swanson both kicked two goals and had 15 and 12 disposals respectively.

For Central Districts Caitlyn Teague led her side with 18 disposals, four marks and three clearances.

North Adelaide’s Hannah Ewings and Jess Edwards played a role in the win with Ewings kicking two goals from 20 disposals and Edwards leading the disposals with 25.

Doreena Hansen, Jaimi Tabb and Briana Arthur also all kicked two goals in the Roosters win over Woodville-West Torrens.

Jordann Hickey was one of the best for the Eagles with her 12 disposals, one goal and five inside 50s.

Tahlita Buethke had an impressive performance for South Adelaide kicking three goals, gathering 17 disposals and laying 9 tackles in her side's win. Nicole Campbell also played a role in the win with her 20 disposals, six tackles and five inside 50s.

West Adelaide’s Zoe Venning was her sides best with 16 disposals, 13 tackles and a goal.

Sturt’s Georgia Bevan had 14 touches, a goal and five marks to help her side remain undefeated in the SANFLW. Alysha Healy kicked two goals from her 15 disposals.

Lana Schwerdt led for the Redlegs with 19 disposals and nine tackles while Alana Lishmund kicked two goals in the loss.

VICTORIA

The Southern Saints picked up their third win of the season with a 20-point win over Geelong. Casey remains undefeated after a big 93-point win against the Bulldogs. Essendon also kept its unbeaten streak alive with a 52-point win over Williamstown. Hawthorn held on for an 8-point win against Collingwood. Darebin returned to the winners list with a 16-point win over North Melbourne. Port Melbourne put in a strong performance to get its first win of the year by 20-points over Carlton.

AFLW-Listed Players 

Renee Saulitis and Alanna Woodward led the Southern Saints in the win over Geelong with Woodward picking up 24 disposals and seven tackles while Saulitis kicked three goals.

Geelong’s Rene Caris and Georgia Clarke picked up 16 and 15 disposals respectively in the Cats loss.

Brenna Tarrant starred for Casey with 32 disposals and 11 clearances in the big win over the Dogs.

Lauren Magee and Krstel Petrevski also put in good performances for the Demons collecting 21 and 18 disposals.

North Melbourne defender Jess Duffin put her case forward for a recall to the AFLW side with 27 disposals and 10 marks in North’s loss. Perri King also showed signs with her 12 disposals and nine tackles for the Roos.

Meg Macdonald played a role in Richmond affiliate Port Melbourne’s win over the Blues with her 26 disposals, eight marks and five clearances. Stella Reid also kicked a goal from 12 disposals in Port’s win.

 

State League Players

Tamara Smith had an impressive 33 disposals and 11 tackles for the Cats and again combined with Paige Sheppard in the midfield who had 20 disposals and nine tackles.

The Saints' Hannah Stuart grabbed 29 disposals and nine tackles in the Saints win over the Cats.

Tahlia Fellows had a best on ground performance with three goals from 19 disposals, six marks and six tackles.

Eliza Vale was the Dogs best in a tough loss picking up 15 disposals, eight marks and five tackles.

Marianna Anthony, Amelia Radford and Sarah Ford led the Bombers midfield in the absence of captain Georgia Nanscawen. All three lodged disposal numbers in the 20s and combined for 19 tackles and 12 clearances.

Williamstown Ruby Tripodi was the best for the Seagulls kicking a goal from 18 disposals and also laying nine tackles.

Aimee Whelan owned the clearances for the Hawks picking up a match high nine from her 21 disposals. Tamara Luke also played a role in the Hawks win collecting 15 disposals and 39 hit outs.

Collingwood midfielder Demi Hallett notched up a huge 22 tackles with Nic Hales and Caitlin Bunker also performing well in the loss.

Former Dogs Angelica Gogos and Nicole Callinan continued their strong form for the Falcons helping their side get a win.

Annabel Scott picked up 26 disposals, eight marks and four clearances for North Melbourne in the loss.

Kaitlyn O’Keefe and Akayla Peterson both picked up 17 disposals in Port Melbourne’s win with O’Keefe also lay an impressive 12 tackles.

Carlton captain Amelia Klingbeil couldn’t get her side over the line but led the Blues with her 21 disposals, four marks and nine tackles.
