THE FUTURE is bright for reigning premiers Brisbane, with five players selected in the AFLPA's 22Under22 squad of 40, the most of any side.

Defenders Nat Grider and Jade Ellenger, forwards Jesse Wardlaw and Courtney Hodder and ruck Tahlia Hickie have all made the cut, while Adelaide, Fremantle, Geelong, Gold Coast and Melbourne have four nominees each.

Players must be 22 or under for the entirety of the NAB AFLW season, up until and including Grand Final day (April 4), and have played 50 per cent of matches this season (five games).

The squad was selected by the AFLPA, with support from Champion Data, and fans can decide on the final team by voting at 22under22.com.au until March 22.

Twenty of the forty have been previously selected, while five (Alyce Parker, Monique Conti, Georgia Gee, Maddy Prespakis and Eden Zanker) are aiming to make their third straight team of 22.
