WEST AUSTRALIA
Claremont kicked six goals to South Fremantle’s one in the second half to run away 41-point winners at Fremantle Community Bank Oval. East Fremantle held West Perth to just one goal for the game in its 82-point victory. Swan Districts never relinquished the lead from Peel Thunder in a 17-point win at home.
AFLW-Listed Players
Ashley Sharp was again prominent for Swan Districts helping her side to a win kicking three goals from nine disposals and laying four tackles.
State League Players
Kate Orme was the best for Claremont finishing with 26 disposals and a goal in her sides win. Brooke Whyte was also impressive kicking three goals from her 17 disposals.
South Fremantle’s Zoe Wakfer was singled out for her performance in the tough loss finishing with 13 disposals.
There were 11 different goalkickers for the Sharks in their big win with Amber Kinnane the sole multiple goalkicker with her two. Ashleigh Gomes found plenty of the football finishing with 26 touches and Larissa Versaci was also important with her 27 and a goal.
Abigail Bushby led all players with her 27 disposals also adding a goal, five marks and six inside 50s to her tally for Swan Districts.
Ebony Dowson was the best for Peel Thunder with her 24 disposal performance in the loss.
SOUTH AUSTRALIA
North Adelaide had a big 62-point win away against Norwood. Glenelg made it four wins a row with its 26-point win over West Adelaide. Sturt was handed its first loss of the season by Central Districts in a six-point thriller at Thebarton Oval. South Adelaide moved back into the top four with its win over Woodville-West Torrens.
AFLW-Listed Players
Crow Madison Newman was one of West Adelaide's best in the loss to Glenelg finishing with 25 disposals, six marks and eight rebound 50s.
Newman’s teammate Brooke Tonon performed well for Glenelg finishing with 18 disposals in her sides loss.
After making her Crows debut in round 10, McKenzie Dowrick kicked two goals for Woodville-West Torrens from her 12 disposals. Jasmine Simmons also had two goals for the Eagles in the sides loss.
State League Players
Jess Edwards led the way for North Adelaide in her sides win kicking a goal from her 24 disposals. Hannah Ewings was electric inside forward 50 kicking four goals in the Roosters' big win.
For Norwood, Lana Schwedt led her side with 23 disposals, seven tackles and five clearances. Morgan Johnston was also amongst the action for Norwood finishing with 17 disposals, five marks and five tackles.
Jessica Bates was integral for the Tigers, leading all disposal-getters with 28 and also the tackles with 11. Ellie Kellock also put in a match-winning performance kicking two goals from her 21 disposals.
West Adelaide’s Zoe Venning impressed with her 18 disposals, seven tackles, six clearances and a goal.
Shelby Smith put in big performance in Central District’s upset win over Sturt with 24 disposals, eight marks and 11 tackles. Shannon Murphy kicked two goals in the win including the match-winner for the Bulldogs.
Georgia Bevan and Alisha Gepp won the most of the footy for Sturt and Alysha Healy kicked two goals from 14 disposals.
Nicole Campbell had an impressive outing for South Adelaide finishing with 23 disposals, five marks and eight tackles while Shae Archbold kicked three goals in the Panthers' win.
Eagles’ Sophie Zuill applied plenty of pressure with her 12 tackles and Annie Falkenberg led the disposals alongside Renee Forth with both finishing with 18.
VICTORIA
No VFLW games this weekend due to a bye
NORTHERN TERRITORY
The Darwin Buffetttes won the 2021/22 NTFL Women’s Premier League Grand Final on the weekend, defeating the Nightcliff Tigers by 28 points.
Dom Carbone, who also plays for Hawthorn in the VFLW, won the Brenda Williams Medal for her best on ground performance. Carbone kicked two of the Buffettes’ four goals and was integral for the winning side all over the ground.
Molly Althouse and skipper Kylie Duggan also put in important performances to help the Buffettes’ to the premiership.
For Nightcliff, Eliza Morrison was the best player for the losing side, doing her best to keep her side in the contest.
