THE AFL is pleased to announce the umpiring panel for the 2022 NAB AFL Women's Grand Final between the Adelaide Crows and Melbourne, to be played at Adelaide Oval this Saturday, April 9.
Andrew Adair, Nicholas McGinness and Jordyn Pearson were selected as the field umpires, with Tom Bryce named as the emergency.
Pearson will officiate her first NAB AFLW Grand Final and becomes the second female to field umpire to do so.
This is McGinness' third consecutive NAB AFLW Grand Final, officiating the 2019, 2021 and 2022 Grand Finals.
Andrew Adair returns for his second NAB AFLW Grand Final, umpiring the 2018 match between the Western Bulldogs and the Brisbane Lions.
Goal umpires Matthew Edwards and James Rizio will be officiating their first NAB AFL Women's Grand Final.
AFL Head of Umpiring Dan Richardson congratulated each umpire, after their selection was finalised earlier this week.
“Nicholas, Jordyn and Andrew have performed consistently across the entire season and fully deserve their selection in what promises to be a great grand final,” Mr Richardson said.
“I also want to take this opportunity to congratulate each boundary and goal umpire selected for the 2022 NAB AFL Women’s Grand Final and thank every umpire who officiated in the NAB AFLW Competition this season.”
