In the penultimate round of the WAFLW, Peel Thunder’s 12-point win over Swan Districts put finals firmly in sight. East Fremantle shored up the minor premiership with a 62-point win over West Perth. Subiaco made the race for the last finals spot interesting with an upset win over Claremont.

Fremantle forward Sabreena Duffy's impressive return to football continues with the livewire collecting 15 disposals and taking three marks in Peel Thunder’s win over Swan Districts.
Aisling McCarthy made her comeback with Subiaco, playing in her first game since fracturing her wrist in February ahead of NAB AFLW Season Seven. McCarthy had a strong return finishing with 19 disposals, six tackles and a goal.
State League Players
Jade Briggs was dangerous in front of goal for Peel Thunder, kicking two goals from her 11 disposals. Teammates Jade Britton and Ella Roberts found plenty of the footy picking up 21 and 19 disposals, respectively, with Roberts also hitting the scoreboard with a goal.
Ruby Mahony fought hard for Swan Districts in the loss to Peel Thunder, applying plenty of pressure with her 11 tackles and winning 17 disposals.
AFLW draft prospect Abbygail Bushby wasn't far behind, picking up 17 disposals and four marks for Swan Districts.
East Fremantle’s Amber Kinnane and Ashleigh Gomes both collected 32 disposals in their side's big win over West Perth.
Ashlee Atkins was also impressive for the Sharks, finishing with 28 disposals, nine tackles, four marks and a goal in an all-round performance.
Subiaco’s finals chances were bolstered by the performances of Tarnica Golisano who had 28 disposals and seven tackles, and Tiah Toth who also lay seven tackles and had 19 disposals of her own.
Jasmine Stewart kicked Claremont’s only goal from her 17 disposals, with teammate Madeleine Scanlon the Tigers' best for her 23 disposal, five tackle effort in the loss.

East Coast Eagles continue to lead the competition after an 11-point win over Sydney University. A four-goal first quarter set the Inner West Magpies up for its 19-point win over Southern Power. The North Shore Bombers kicked five unanswered goals in the second half to take out a 34-point win over the UTS Bats. The Manly Warringah Wolves were too good for Macquarie University taking out a 37-point victory at Macquarie University Oval. An inaccurate Pennant Hills Demons side took it up to the UNSW-ES Bulldogs but just feel short by seven points.
AFLW-Listed Players
GWS Giant’s Ally Dallaway played a key role in the East Coast Eagles tough win over Sydney University finding herself in the best players for her efforts.
Emily Goodsir was in the best for Manly Warringah Wolves as she continues her comeback after having son Cruz in February. GWS teammate Jess Doyle was also prominent for Manly in the win over Macquarie University.
State League Players
Bryany Parker and Emily Hurley were among the votes for the East Coast Eagles in the win over Sydney University.
Stephanie Gillon kicked three of Sydney University’s four goals to be named one of the best on the day.
Inner West Magpie’s Eilish Sheerin was in the best for her two-goal performance against Southern Power, while Kyla Tracey kicked two goals and was among the votes for Southern Power.
North Shore Bombers' Kate Reynolds and Olivia Edwards were impressive in their side's win over UTS.
For UTS, it was Grace Hill and Edwina Ross who stood out for the Bats in the hard-fought loss.
Manly Warringah’s Lauren Bourgeois was deemed best on ground for her work against Macquarie University.
Gabrielle Wendelin and Hayley Stanford ensured that the UNSW-ES Bulldogs hung on in the close clash against Pennant Hills Demons.
For Pennant Hills, Kaitlin Noble and Eliza Harvey were in the votes with some outstanding efforts to get their side over the line.
