ANOTHER member of the Bowey family will be playing at the top level, with Hannah Bowey added to North Melbourne's list as a replacement player for Grace Campbell.

The Roo will unfortunately miss the season after rupturing her ACL in her left leg in a marking contest at training.

The 23-year-old Bowey, who has spent the last two years playing for Collingwood's VFLW side, is the sister of Melbourne's premiership player Jake and the daughter of former Saint Brett.

Aunt Belinda recently recorded her 400th game of football, playing with Port Melbourne Colts Masters' side, and is believed to be the first woman to reach the milestone.

Bowey's running power is one of her strongest attributes, playing mostly on the wing.

The hard-nosed Campbell has played 18 AFLW games in her three seasons as a half-forward or midfielder, 13 coming with the Roos after crossing from Richmond at the end of 2020.

"We are really disappointed for Grace. She has had an excellent pre-season, we couldn’t fault the way she has gone about it," North Melbourne’s head of women’s football Nathan Hrovat said.

"Despite this setback, Grace will continue to be an important part of our group across season seven and we will continue to support her throughout her rehab.

"Hannah had a really consistent year with Collingwood in the VFLW with her speed and athleticism really impressing.

"We think her traits add some further flexibility to our squad. At 23 years of age, we think she’s ready to take this opportunity with both hands and make an impact for us from the get-go."
