NO.1 pick Montana Ham is set to be sidelined for just 3-4 weeks, having escaped an ACL injury.

The Swans midfielder's leg was caught in a smother when kicking in the final quarter of the club's debut game against St Kilda.

Ham has suffered a knee joint strain, dodging the fate suffered by former No.1 picks Izzy Huntington and Nina Morrison.

The severity of the knee injuries suffered by Kellie Gibson and Lily Postlethwaite is yet to be confirmed by West Coast and Brisbane respectively.

"When they hobble off and look like that, it's never a great sign," Brisbane coach Craig Starcevich said of Postlethwaite post-match.

"She's got some very close mates in the team who were affected by it. Knowing how hard she's worked to get back to today is devastating. We don't know what the outcome is yet until we get the scans."

Womens.afl will publish a full wrap of club injury lists on Wednesday.
