THE 50-GAME milestones are starting to fly in thick and fast in the NAB AFLW competition.
Who's set to reach the barrier when they next play?
SARAH ALLAN (Adelaide)
One of the premier defenders in the competition, it's hard to believe Allan started her AFLW career as a back-up ruck, playing low minutes and rotating off the bench. The inaugural Crow has a powerful combination of height, speed and composure, able to play on tall and short forwards and dictate play from the backline. Allan is a two-time All Australian and has played in both of Adelaide's flags. Father Keith played for Central District in the SANFL, with sister Jess on GWS' list.
KAREN PAXMAN (Melbourne)
One of just two players to be five-time All Australians (alongside Emma Kearney), Paxman is a true champion of the AFLW competition. A Darebin Falcons product who was signed to Melbourne as a priority player ahead of 2017, Paxman can win a game off her own boot, such is the dominance she can hold over a midfield. A clever player who reads the game well, Paxman has excellent disposal and can play both on the inside and outside. Has finished in the top three of Melbourne's best and fairest every year.
STEVIE-LEE THOMPSON (Adelaide)
The AFLW's leading goalkicker in 2019, Thompson is a true dual-position player, equally effective at both ends of the ground. Fondly known as "Speedy-Lee", few can catch the pacey Crow when she hits full stride, particularly when streaming off half-back. Thompson was one of Adelaide's inaugural Darwin recruits, having crossed from a touch football background to play for the Wanderers in the NTFLW. An All-Australian in 2019 and a dual premiership player.
HAYLEY MILLER (Fremantle)
A first-year captain who has taken to the role with aplomb, the dynamic midfielder has played some of her very best footy this year. Miller was Fremantle's first ever draft pick, selected with No.4 in the 2016 NAB AFLW Draft, and quickly established herself as an essential cog in the midfield with her hard running and clean disposal. Has added a goalkicking string to her bow this year, and finished ninth in the AFLCA champion player count.
