FORMER Collingwood AFLW coach Wayne Siekman has been appointed Carlton AFLW and VFLW list manager.
After three years at the Magpies, Siekman's contract was not renewed and he departed the club at the start of April.
Carlton coach Daniel Harford previously worked closely with Siekman as his senior assistant in 2018.
Veteran Blues midfielder Katie Loynes will also have a unique role, continuing to play while taking on the position of AFLW recruiting manager, with a specific focus on the NAB AFLW Draft in October.
"To have a person of Wayne's calibre on board with our AFLW and VFLW programs with his experience within the women's game – from grassroots level through to AFLW – will be a great asset to our program," Carlton's head of football Brad Lloyd said.
"Wayne has such a passion for women's football and shares our belief in the direction we want to take both our AFLW and VFLW programs. We welcome Wayne to the club and look forward to working with him."
Siekman's biggest priority will be filling the hole left behind by star onballer Brianna Davey, who crossed to Collingwood during the recently completed AFLW Trade and Signing Period.
